DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Practicing since 1993, Stacey really loves designing to transform the relationships of the end users.  Often, clients will call her a few months after the project has ended to tell her how the productivity of their employees has jumped up, more diners are lingering over another cup of espresso, sales are up, even dinner is on the table faster and the kids are laughing more!  Nothing could be more rewarding.

Stacey is able to achieve these results by taking time during the pre-design phase to really understand the needs of her clients.  Usually the client has a list of wants and needs that they will present in the early interview, but Stacey takes care to meet most or all of the users, watch the interactions, ask additional questions and try to improve functional dynamics of the space to make the end result exceed the expectations of her clients.  This even includes careful attention to the subconscious psychological effects of color, enclosure, volume and preserving personal space.

Stacey is very concerned with providing value, in both service and product.  Value is the perfect combination of quality AND price.  Cheap is just cheap, but a good value provides something that is both satisfying and affordable.

Stacey makes education a high priority.  After completing her Bachelor of Architecture degree from The Catholic University of America, she went on to receive a Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  Later, she was recognized as a Certified Interior Designer and most recently, a LEED accredited professional by the United States Green Building Council.  Stacey actively participates in continuing education related to architecture, interior design and sustainability, and it currently serving as chairman of continuing education for the AIA-NJ Chapter, providing and managing programs for 2000 members of that organization.

This emphasis on education also flows over into Stacey’s projects.  Assisting clients in understanding the how’s and why’s of the design process and providing the right information and resources for clients to make informed decisions are trademarks of this practice.  Every effort is made to foster clear and open communication and understanding, from design intent to coordinating schedule, budget and vision.  Every project is a team effort and all team members have a voice and a responsibility.  Unconventional, research based, project specific solutions are often the result of this collaboration.

On each project, Stacey invites only the necessary and most appropriate complimentary professionals to join her team.
